Have you ever wondered what a magician is really thinking about while he performs a trick Marco uses a new technology to show you. Seldom has anything we’ve done created the kind of buzz around the worldwide technical community as Marco Tempest’s Augmented Reality Card Magic, posted as a work in progress last week on YouTube. Blogs and eZines from Wired, Engadget, CNET and more all covered (and linked to) the video. See the links at the bottom of the story for just a few of these. Read on to learn more: Have you ever wondered what a magician is really thinking about while he performs a trick Through the miracle of his Augmented Reality Technology, Marco Tempest takes us inside his own mind as he performs a series of complex effects with a deck of playing cards. Sitting at a table before a live audience, Marco puts on a device that looks somewhat like a pair of glasses with a camera mounted on it. What the device records is a combination of what the camera sees and what Marco is thinking...amazing! If you thought the magician has his mind on difficult technique or on fooling you – you’ll be surprised. The piece is entitled Augmented Reality Card Magic, and Marco posted a preliminary version of it on YouTube late April. In the first 48 hours it received over 50,000 views and a #1 top rating in science and technology. You can check it out yourself . (links below) Augmented Reality Card Magic is ready for public performance now, and will be presented at the upcoming TEDX talks in Tokyo before live audiences there.
