The Best or Nothing for Mercedes
Giorgio Armani, Michael Douglas and Marco Tempest at Mercedes Museum Launch.
Marco Tempest, “The Mercedes Benz of Magicians,” recently hosted the gala opening of the Mercedez Benz World Museum in Stuttgart.

One of the biggest and most important events produced by Mercedes Benz in the past 50 years, the opening was attended by 2000 international guests from the spheres of politics, economics and society.

Among them were: Mika Haenningen, Giorgio Armani, Michael Douglas -- and at center stage Marco Tempest and his Video Heads! The Minister-President of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Guenther H. Oettinger, and the Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler AG, Dr. Dieter Zetsche opened the new Mercedes-Benz World on May 19th at a ceremony for which Tempest created all of the interstitial elements. Featured was a screen walkout of chairman of the board Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Marco’s Video Heads, and the premiere of Tempest’s new mobile screen application, in which he uses a small portable screen to "stamp" elements of a larger image on to a large (55 foot by 16 foot) rear projection screen.

All aspects of this exclusive event were chosen following the credo of the founder of Mercedes Benz, Mr. Gottlieb Benz: "The Best or Nothing!" About the new Mercedes-Benz Museum: As the inventor of the automobile, DaimlerChrysler has a responsibility to create an adequate forum for automotive history and to give a home to the unique tradition of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

On a floor area of 16,500 square meters (178,000 square feet), the Mercedes-Benz Museum provides its visitors with an unforgettable experience of the brand. The central elements encompass the entire Mercedes tradition with the three-pointed star - passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motor sport - thus creating a communication platform for the Mercedes-Benz brand that is unparalleled throughout the world. Imaginative, chronologically ordered presentations expound the entire "Mercedes Legend" - from the dawn of automotive history up through visions of the future. Accompanying showcase collections also elucidate the various thematic backgrounds.
