Marco at Magic Live!
Creative Magic for a Creative Convention

Stan Allen’s Magic Live! convention is known for its unconventionality. How perfect then, that this year’s convention should feature Marco Tempest. Marco kicked off the opening gala show with a presentation of his flying orb magic, Aura, which introduced the theme logo of the convention. Following up with his signature The Magic Touch, and then Cubed! his original magic with a Rubik’s cube, Marco received the warmest response of the evening for his performance. The next day in the lecture hall, almost the full 1,000 attendees gathered to hear Marco give in depth instruction on how best to use viral video to get attention and help them promote their own acts. Detailing his own formula for success, Marco then provided resources to help others achieve higher ratings and viewership for their own viral video. To cap off his talk, Marco showed his latest creation, the Augmented Reality Card Trick. Performing the latest version of the piece, in which he performs a live trick while a live camera showing his hands and the cards as he performs supplies an overlay of “what’s really on the magician’s mind.” After the applause, Marco talked about how the piece was developed, and offered to show anyone who wanted to a “behind the scenes” tour if they would meet up with him after the session. His talk won the first standing ovation of the convention lectures! Magic Live! is known for being one of the magic world’s most creative events. Marco’s contributions to this year’s event helped it maintain its position at the leading edge of what is new and different in magic.
