On Friday, March 16, our websites at www.newmagic.com and www.marcotempest.com joined the ranks of such internet giants as E-Bay, Amazon and America Online -- we were the victims of a malicious hacker attack. The attack was a serious one, in which data was destroyed and the servers were being used to attack other machines. This made it necessary to immediately shut down our site for over a week as we cleaned the drives, re-installed and upgraded the site, and installed new security. After 10 days of feverish efforts one the part our entire team, we're back, and better than ever! The attack and re-building of the site provided the perfect excuse for a major upgrade, and we are now on a larger and faster server, with more security. All of the old portions of the site are still there, and looking very much as they did before. Users should experience noticeably faster load times when accessing the site -- and some new features will be cropping up over the coming weeks. We expect that our users may experience some small bugs in the site as we complete our upgrade, and would appreciate your reports of anything you see that is "unusual," directly to our Webmasters at: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are among the many who have had e-mail bounced back within the past 10 days, please note that our e-mail servers are now back on line, and re-send us your information and inquiries.
