For the start of the “Chinese Grand Prix 2008” Mercedes Benz invited the Shanghai elite to a VIP Gala Dinner. The evening was entitled: "The Fascination of Life," and the Magic of Marco Tempest ran throughout the event.
Angela Chow, hostess of the television talk shows Good Morning China and Du Bao Magazine Critique hosted the evening’s festivities, which featured performances by Chinese pop & R&B singer David Tao and Taiwanese pop-star A-mei.
Marco presented a customized show with a strong Formula 1 theme created specially for the event. Highlights of the evening included the magical appearance of the Klaus Maier – President & CEO, Mercedes-Benz (China) and Ulrich Walker – Chairman & CEO, Daimler Northeast Asia from one of the three giant LED screens.
Marco's show featured interactions with celebrity guests Li Xiang (well-known TV hostess & singer) and Volker Mornhinweg – Chairman of management board, Mercedes-AMG GmbH
For a grand finale to the show, Marco caused the appearance of F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen from the rising LED screen.
