You’ve read about ‘The Spirit in the Machine’ and heard about the ‘Genii in the Bottle.’ Now Marco Tempest, The Virtual Magician, has been seen exhibiting an especially mischievous spirit who seems to enjoy shattering glass bottles into thousands of pieces, and in the process, severely startling innocent spectators who just happen to be holding on the bottles as they shatter!
Here’s how it works: Marco borrows an empty bottle, and invites another audience member to join him onstage. He asks his guest to examine the bottle and make sure it’s completely solid, tapping it against the floor or a table to make certain it isn’t too fragile. The guest is then asked to drop a small ‘spirit pebble’ into the bottle. Eerie music begins to play, Marco steps away from his guest, who holds the bottle out away from his or her body, and in just a few seconds, the spirit inside the bottle mysteriously shatters it into a thousand pieces. The piece generates a high degree of surprise and astonishment – a true ‘journey to the other side,’ for magician and audience alike. |
