Technology marches into the future, and Marco Tempest continues to stay one step ahead.
In Mind Cam, he presents a phone camera which can take pictures of things its users have only imagined.
Inviting an audience member to help him onstage, Marco suggests that they play the part of a dealer in a casino. They are to imagine they are holding a particular card, and to hold that (invisible) card up to the camera. Marco takes their picture, and immediately places the camera face down onto their outstretched palm. When the spectator names the card they had been thinking of, the card instantly appears from an assortment floating on the large screen upstage. Marco comments that this might just be video magic...and asks them to turn the phone over. On its screen there is a picture of them holding the card they were only thinking of!
This photo is immediately transmitted to the large screen behind Marco, and the whole audience can see the impossible photo.
Mindcam can be themed in many different ways. In one version, the effect can be one of presenting an amazing new technology. In another, we can suggest that Marco has the remarkable mental ability to read the guest's mind and then project his thoughts as an image into the camera. In a corporate meeting, the message of the piece might be that we need to be able to fulfill our client's needs, even when they've only begun to imagine them.
